EzROS Connectivity and Services
When devices are attached to a compute unit, XenseGripper uses EzROS nodes for control and status transport. Put the computer and compute unit on the same LAN, then discover the device MAC, service name, and supported actions.
Before you start
Confirm that the host can reach the compute-unit IP and that the target device service is running. Remote calls require the correct device MAC, service name, and action name.
Query and test
CLI options vary between EzROS releases; a common flow looks like this:
# Scan for visible devices (check the help of your installed version)
ezros --help
ezros -a
# Query service help
ezros service --help
From Python, call directly:
from xensesdk.ezros import call_service
result = call_service(
"master_d672f584b17a",
"scan_sensor_sn",
)
print(result)
On success, it returns the decoded ret directly; on failure, it returns None. If a remote call fails, check the IP address, service state, and firewall rules.
