SDK Documentation
Xense provides development interfaces for tactile sensors, grippers, and tactile gloves. Choose the Python SDK for your device.
XenseSDKConnect tactile sensors and output rectified images, depth, markers, force distributions, and 3D meshes.XenseGripperControl gripper position, velocity, force, and SAFE mode through local or remote connections.XenseGloveSDKConnect tactile gloves over USB or BLE to read finger and palm pressure distributions and IMU data.
All three SDKs provide Python APIs. XenseGripper SAFE mode uses tactile feedback from XenseSDK, so install and calibrate the sensor SDK first. For tactile gloves, start with XenseGloveSDK Installation.
Connection modes
The following modes apply to XenseSDK and XenseGripper. For XenseGloveSDK USB and BLE connections, see Quick Start.
LocalSensors or grippers connect directly to the development computer.
RemoteDevices connect to a compute unit, and the application specifies remote sensors using
mac_addr; IP addresses are used for underlying network connectivity and device discovery, not as direct arguments to Sensor.create.SolverUse the exported runtime configuration for offline inference; callers must provide
raw_image or rectify_image frame by frame.Always release resources on exit: call sensor.release(), use with gripper.mode(...) for temporary gripper modes, and use with XenseGlove.open(...) or with XenseGlove.open_ble(...) to manage glove connections.
